Location & Telehealth
Telehealth (Online) Across all of California
This practice is virtual within California. Telehealth is offered as the primary format to support a private, flexible, accessible and consistent therapeutic experience. This model allows for depth, continuity, and discretion, without the added demands of travel or scheduling disruptions, while maintaining clinical effectiveness and professional standards of care.
Requirements to Session Location
I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed to provide counseling & psychotherapy in the state of California.
Per our licensing regulation board, clients must be physically located within California at the time of each session, including Telehealth Sessions.
Privacy, Security, & Confidentiality
All telehealth sessions are conducted using secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms, such as, SimplePractice, Zoom (WorkForce) and Doxy.me.
Clients are responsible for choosing a private location for telehealth sessions and for understanding potential confidentiality risks when participating from shared or public environments.
Who Telehealth Works Best For
Telehealth therapy is well suited for individuals who:
- Desire Online Care due to In-Person scheduling or transportation challenges
- Travel within California but want consistent therapy services
- Prefer engaging in therapy from the comfort of their preferred location
This format is especially effective for clients seeking consistent, depth-oriented outpatient therapy within a structured and intentional framework.
When Telehealth May NOT Be the Right Fit
Telehealth may not be appropriate when a higher level of care, crisis intervention, or specialized in-person services are needed.
In such cases, referrals will be provided to support access to appropriate and ethical care.
Connection & Presence in Virtual Sessions
Meaningful connection remains central to the work. Sessions are conducted with intention, presence, and attunement, allowing for thoughtful dialogue, emotional processing, and nervous system regulation, even in a virtual setting.
Care is taken to ensure that the therapeutic relationship remains grounded, engaged, and responsive, regardless of physical distance.
Technology Requirements
To participate in telehealth sessions, you will need a private location, a stable internet connection, and a computer, tablet, or smartphone with video capability. Sessions take place through a secure HIPAA-compliant video platform.
Telehealth psychotherapy is appropriate for mild to moderate outpatient mental health concerns. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or require crisis services, please contact 911, your nearest emergency room, or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
